Well, it’ll be a lot cheaper than actually de-icing the pavements.
Chancers leave voicemail in attempt to be convincing – still not fooled – who did you say you were again?
After taking a bit of flack about travelling first class on my journeys I wanted to put the record straight and help a few people reduce travel costs and consider first class as a stress-free and by comparion cheaper alternative. Read on.
Recently i’d been having a problem with my iPhone, nope, it’s not been suffering from the infamous signal drop issue and needs a special rubber case, mine’s an iPhone 32gb 3GS.
However, the headset port had stopped working properly, in that I could place the headset in and get audio but the neat little controller on the earbud wouldn’t do anything and I couldn’t use it as a handsfree device.
Apparently demand is down – no, deposits of £43,750 are unaffordable! I find this incredibly hard to believe as all I hear is people talking about wanting to get a house instead of renting due to tenancy restrictions, uncertainty of their landlord paying the mortgage and just generally wanting to own what should largely be an appreciable asset. However, with banks requiring ludicrous deposits of anything from 25% upwards it is going to be some time before Joe Average can get out of rental tyrany.
It’s one of the most common questions we get when we go out request collecting and promoting the station around the wards, “Why can’t we listen to this at home?”. We get monthly listener figures which have peaked in the 12,000+ hours range – beating BBC Radio 1 by several thousand.
A few weeks ago I re-housed an old PC for the studio in a rackmount case that I bought from a company called “X-Case”. Well, I decided it was time to buy some new hardware to replace my other workstation and I thought i’d put it in another one of these cases. I went back to the site and lo-and-behold, they’d done a slight upgrade of the case
Firstly, I absolutely love my iPhone – I never thought I could love a gadget so much. I was opposed to one, I kept saying things like “not bloody likely” or “over my dead rotting windows-mobile-loving carcass!” – and then it happened, just like all addictions – someone introduced me to it – my brother! He’d decided he wanted one and kept waiving it under my nose and just like the scent of a good meal, I was slowly drawn towards it and distracted by it’s shineyness and so I got one a few months ago.
A few months ago, i’d stumbled upon x-case’s website and found they did a short 4U case. This case is advertised as 380mm deep – perfect! Unlike server-farm gear which is generally between 600mm or 800mm, i’m using audio industry standard components which are always shorter and my custom-built, movable housing is 500mm deep – so a standard case wasn’t going to be any use as the overhang and weight at the back would be too much and prevent me from pushing the rack back up against the wall in its alcove home.
Hey everybody, welcome to my world! This little corner of cyberspace is just about me, myself and I – no…
